If you’ve ever rolled up to Devs Coffee Bar, you’ve probably noticed two things: our coffee slaps, and there’s a whole lotta Sasquatch energy going on.

That’s not by accident.

The Origin Story—From Hustle to Heart

Our story started with Devyn Slagle, a coffee-loving, people-obsessed, adventure-seeking dreamer who found herself juggling three jobs—dog walker, nanny, and barista at Peet’s Coffee—while also grinding through college. Somewhere between pouring lattes and chasing dogs, she realized something:

So in 2016, she opened Devs Coffee Bar, pouring her heart into creating a place that wasn’t just about caffeine—but about community, creativity, and a damn good cup of coffee.

But Wait… Where Does Sasquatch Come In?

Glad you asked. See, Devs isn’t just any coffee shop. It’s a whole vibe. And if you know anything about the Pacific Northwest, you know that Sasquatch is basically our unofficial mascot. Mysterious. Bold. A little wild. Kinda like us.

But the Sasquatch legend really came to life in 2019, when we started serving our handmade breakfast bagels—something we had been dreaming up for a while. The biggest, boldest one? We called it The Squatch.

That bagel became more than just a menu item—it became a symbol of what we were building. Something fun, a little different, and totally us. That same energy is what shaped the way Devs looks and feels today—cozy, welcoming, and unapologetically inspired by the PNW.

The Plot Twist—Turning Devs Into a Family Hustle

Fast forward to 2019, and life threw a wild one. Devyn and her husband Austin had just welcomed their first baby, Cooper, when Devyn faced some unexpected health struggles. At the same time, Austin lost his job.

With a newborn in their arms, a coffee shop to run, and no backup plan, they looked at each other and said…

“Welp… guess we’re doing this thing together.”

Austin jumped in full-time, and together, they poured everything they had into Devs. It wasn’t always easy, but they kept showing up, kept learning, and kept building a place that people could count on—not just for a caffeine fix, but for a good start to their day.

So, What’s Devs All About?

At Devs Coffee Bar, we live by one mission:

Since 2019, Devs has grown to three shops and a team of over 30 incredible employees. But more importantly, we’ve built a community. Every person who walks through our doors is part of this wild, caffeinated adventure we call Devs, and we’re beyond grateful for it.
